Job Description

Carolina Health Centers, Inc. (CHC) is a patient centered and quality focused federally qualified community health center that serves as the primary care medical home for over 25,000 patients. CHC is seeking a Board certified or Board eligible Pediatrician to fill a full time position at The Children's Center located on a 15-acre campus in Greenwood, SC. The Children's Center (TCC) is a model program for promoting child health and wellness, providing high quality pediatric care integrated with on-site behavioral health services, as well as a family resource and child development department that includes three evidence-based home visitation programs. The medical staff of TCC includes 4 pediatricians, 3 advance practice nurses, and a behavioral health counselor. TCC's pediatricians and APRNs provide Newborn Nursery services; however, inpatient and sick baby care is provided through a hospitalist agreement with Self Regional Healthcare. Self Regional Healthcare, located just two miles from TCC, is a tertiary care hospital licensed for 421 beds with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery. Greenwood is located in the beautiful Lakelands Region of South Carolina and surrounded by lakes and outdoor recreational opportunities. Greenwood has become well known for its "Uptown" area that is lined with unique shops and restaurants, and home to a variety of festivals, music, and cultural events. Conveniently located for day trips or a weekend get-away, Greenwood is 2 hours from the mountains, 4 hours from the beach, and within 60 and 90 minutes driving time to the metropolitan areas of Greenville and Columbia respectively. Carolina Health Centers, Inc. (CHC) embraces a patient centered medical home model focusing on community outreach and education, patient engagement, and chronic disease management. CHC is an electronic practice and a leader in the development of a statewide health information exchange. We currently operate family practice sites, two pediatric sites, one OBGYN practice, and a seasonal migrant farmworker health program. We provide oral health services for eligible patients through a network of contracted dentists and we operate two community pharmacies in Greenwood with a convenient delivery service to all of our outlying practices. The medical staff of Carolina Health Centers is organized under the Vice President of Medical Services who reports to the President and CEO and also oversees a comprehensive organizational quality management program. Children's Health and Wellness programs operate under the direction of a Chief of Pediatrics who directly supervises the pediatric providers and reports to the Chief Medical Officer.
