Job Description

POSITION OPPORTUNITY:



LSCC seeks to hire board certified Physicians who are personable, energetic, compassionate, licensed physicians who have experience in FQHCs. Our physicians provide medical care to the LSCC patient by providing personalized, comprehensive, out-patient primary care under the direction of the Medical Director. The Family Medicine Physician delivers primary care and excellent experience to the patients of LSCC appropriate for an out-patient, primary care community health center with multicultural, multilingual patient population. This position requires 40 hours of patient face time per week as well as 2 to 4 hours of administrative time.



EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, & LICENSE:

Current valid license to practice medicine in the State of Texas (or completion/scheduled date of Jurisprudence)

Current DPS and DEA certificates (or in progress)

Board eligibility in Family Practice (ABFP or ABOFP) is required; board certification is required within three years of achieving initial eligibility.

Current American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider course

Bilingual/Medical Spanish is preferred but not required

Lone Star Circle of Care (LSCC) is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC) located in the Central Texas area. Our integrated care model provides patients with both behavioral health and primary care services that include Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Senior Care, Family Medicine, and Dentistry. In addition, we also provide discounted pharmacy services for uninsured patients. At LSCC, each patient has a health care team working together to provide seamless, coordinated care with the patients overall wellness in mind. We provided nearly 340,000 visits for medically underserved adults and children in 2013.



LSCC provides care for a diverse patient population, which includes all ages, from newborns to the elderly, residents of both urban and rural settings, people of all income levels, and patients with a wide variety of diagnoses. Clinicians practice within well-equipped facilities at varied practice sites, and focus on providing top quality, evidence based medicine with person-centered provision of care and services. We provide a professional practice management team that focuses on quality and productivity; we offer teaching/precepting opportunities, and we have an EHR with ongoing IT support.
