Job Description

Permanent Full-Time Emergency Medicine physician (Medical Officer GS-14) located at the Whiteriver Service Unit (WRSU) in Whiteriver, Arizona. The position is located in an area where specialized trauma and emergency care is provided on a 24-hour basis and approximately 40,000 patients are seen annually with the majority being urgent and emergent care patients after hours. Currently seeking Newly graduated emergency resident physicians and experienced Emergency Medical physicians with an innovative spirit to improve the health status of our Native American population.


Salary Range

$98,967.00 to $300,000.00 / Per Year

Duties

Responsible for the practice of medicine or direct service to patients that involve the performance of diagnostic, preventative, or therapeutic services in hospitals and clinics.

Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat, prevent illness, disease, or injury.

Order, perform, and interpret tests and analyze records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patients conditions.

Collect, record, and maintain patient information such as medical history, reports, and examination results. Experience in Electronic Health Record (EHR) is preferred.

Monitor progress of patient condition and re-evaluate treatment, as necessary.

Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.

Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.

Coordinate work with nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other allied health professionals in the provision of a variety of health services.
