Requirements:
Must be currently licensed to practice in the State of Alabama; MD or foreign degree equivalent; completed residency for board eligibility, but certification preferred; willing to rotate at other clinics in the vicinity; able to obtain hospital privileges at local hospitals; sensitive to the needs of diverse cultural backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
The physician is responsible for all preventive, diagnostic, treatment and referral care they render; duties include: responsible and accountable for the provision of medical care provided; works with Corporate Compliance Officer in the implementation of the Health Care Plan; Responds to Medical Director's comments/suggestions regarding peer review; provides medical care to all persons presenting to FQHC; participates in medical staff meetings; coordinates medical care and appropriate referrals for patients; maintains competence and quality of all clinical services rendered; assists in the orientation of clinical staff; performs and is responsible for appropriate coding of all patient encounters; maintains an active membership role in state and local medical associations; participates in programs to identify community health care needs; participates in activities to enhance public awareness of organization's health care services and the utilization of its disease prevention and wellness programs.
