Job Description

Liberty Healthcare is hiring for two available full-time Attending / Staff Psychiatrist positions based at the G. Werber Bryan Psychiatric Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

Responsibilities of these positions primarily involve the provision of inpatient psychiatric treatment to an assigned caseload of adult patients who have serious and persistent mental illness. Specific areas of need include general / adult, geriatric and addictions psychiatry.

The G. Werber Bryan Psychiatric Hospital is a Joint Commission Accredited inpatient psychiatric facility which is operated by the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. The Hospital provides inpatient psychiatric services exclusively to adults. Patients in the hospital's Civil Division are admitted primarily from the 33 counties comprising the Midlands region, the Pee Dee region and the Low Country region of South Carolina. The majority of patients treated in the Adult Services Division are involuntary admissions.

The Hospital is situated in Columbia - South Carolinas Capital City. Centrally located in the State, Columbia is convenient to many wonderful destinations. Charlotte is only 90 minutes north - and Atlanta, Myrtle Beach and the upstate region are within three hours driving distance. Liberty seeks Psychiatrists with:
Board Certification in Psychiatry this is preferred, but not required
Training, certification or interest in general / adult, geriatric or addictions psychiatry
An active South Carolina medical license or willingness to apply for a South Carolina medical license
Interest in providing psychiatry services to adults who have serious and persistent mental illness
Ability to work successfully in a multidisciplinary environment
