We are currently seeking a qualified Medical Director for the Emergency Department at Monroe Hospital located in Bloomington, Indiana.The physician who takes advantage of this Emergency Medicine opportunity will enjoy competitive compensation, local physician leadership, flexible scheduling, occurrence-based malpractice coverage, complimentary online CME and freedom from non-competes. The Medical Director's compensation package includes a substantial monthly stipend.Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital has been serving the community in its present location (just off of Route 60) since 1954. It is a 130-bed, acute care facility owned by Carilion Health System. This facility serves the communities of Lexington, Buena Vista, and the neighboring counties with a service population of approximately 6,000.In 2002, the ED completed its move into a newly constructed, state-of-the-art building connected to the old facility. The annual patient volume in the ED is 16,000. The patients seen are mostly medicine related with 40% of patients being pediatric. Trauma is low, approximately 5% of patients. Physicians are required to respond to hospital codes and at times are required to write admission orders; emergency department admissions account for approximately 8% of all hospital admissions. Lab and x-ray are close to the department and all ancillary support is available, or on-call, 24 hours per day except for MRI, which is available to the hospital on Saturdays. Physician partners are eligible for health, optical, and dental insurance at group rates. Physicians have the option to participate in a 401(k) plan, as well as life and disability insurance at group rates.
