We are currently seeking qualified, full-time Physicians for the Emergency Department at Freeman Health Systems, Freeman West Hospital, located in Joplin, Missouri.Physicians who takes advantage of this Emergency Medicine opportunity will enjoy competitive compensation, local physician leadership, flexible scheduling, occurrence-based malpractice coverage, complimentary online CME and freedom from non-competes.Certified by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services as a Level II trauma center, the Dr. Robert & Dorothy Willcoxon Emergency/Trauma Center at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo., is a 41-bed facility providing comprehensive emergency services to more than 45,000 patients annually. It also offers a four-year emergency medicine residency program. In addition to its state-of-the-art trauma center, Freeman West offers a 40-bed ICU, dedicated pediatric unit, Heart and Vascular Institute, and more. The hospital serves as a tertiary referral center for northeast Oklahoma, southeast Kansas, northwest Arkansas, and southwest Missouri.The largest city in southwestern Missouri's Jasper County, Joplin's 2010 population totaled 50,150. (The estimated population of its surrounding Metropolitan Statistical Area: 175,518.) Main Street, which runs through the city's vibrant downtown historic district, is part of Route 66 and a main thoroughfare for a gas-powered trolley system that stretches citywide. Thanks to a prime location near two major highways and its many event and sports facilities, Joplin is a popular destination. The city offers nearly 1,000 acres and includes a golf course, three swimming pools, 15 miles of walking/biking trails, and the world's largest "Chert Glades." It's also home to the state's first Audubon Nature Center; Grand Falls, the highest continuously flowing waterfall in Missouri; and numerous creeks.JOB REQUIREMENTS: All physicians are partners of Gateway Emergency Physicians, LLP, a registered limited liability partnership. Physician partners are eligible for health, optical, and dental insurance at group rates. Physicians have the option to participate in a 401(k) plan, as well as life and disability insurance at group rates.
