We are currently seeking qualified full-time Emergency Physicians for the Emergency Department at Martin General Hospital located in Williamston, North Carolina.Physicians who take advantage of this Emergency Medicine opportunity will enjoy competitive compensation, local physician leadership, flexible scheduling, occurrence-based malpractice coverage, complimentary online CME and freedom from non-competes.Martin General Hospital is a general medical and surgical hospital in Williamston, NC, with 49 beds. It offers inpatient, outpatient, and medical and surgical care to meet the healthcare needs of citizens in Williamston and the surrounding areas. The hospital had a total of 2,222 admissions. Its physicians performed 469 inpatient and 1,614 outpatient surgeries. In addition, Martin General operates Martin Family Medicine, Roanoke Women's Healthcare, Roanoke Orthopedics, and Roanoke Surgical. The physicians, clinical staff, and employees at Martin General strive to exceed patient expectations, while delivering compassionate, quality care. Martin General Hospital has an annual patient volume of 14,000. The Express Care, a convenient walk-in clinic is located on the east side of the hospital just down from the emergency room entrance. Express care is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Appointments are available and walk-ins are welcome.Williamston is the county seat of Martin County, located in the northeastern Coastal Plain of North Carolina. The town's population is approximately 5,900 while the county's total population is about 25,000. The "Bob Martin Center" is a state of the art, multi-facet facility. The coliseum is more than 110,000 square feet, which includes a 150' x 300' arena with permanent seating for 2,286. In addition to the many superb equestrian events we've had at the Ag Center, we have also enjoyed concerts by popular entertainers such as country music singer / songwriter Willie Nelson, and the contemporary Christian rock group Third Day. The exact date of the first settlement at what was to become Williamston cannot be determined, but it is known there was a village in the general locality as early as 1730. The first settlers are said to have moved from Bertie County to the south side of the Moratoc (now Roanoke) River and located near the ruins of what had been a Tuscaroran Indian village. The locality was known to the Indians as "Squhawky," but it was called "Tar Landing" by the English settlers, as it gradually became the principal shipping point for tar, pitch, turpentine, and other forest products. Deep family ties, a sense of community, and a strong agricultural history have helped this eastern North Carolina town retain its vibrancy, even amid hard times.All physicians are partners of Riverside Emergency Physicians, LLP, a registered limited liability partnership. Physician partners are eligible for health, optical, and dental insurance at group rates. Physicians have the option to participate in a 401(k) plan, as well as life and disability insurance at group rates.
