Part-time PM&R Pediatric Physiatrist

The Icahn School of Medicines Mount Sinai Services at Elmhurst Hospital Center is looking for a Pediatric Physiatrist. Elmhurst Hospital Center is an acute care hospital and Level I Trauma Center, located in the borough of Queens in New York City serving a very diverse patient population. Elmhurst Hospital is a major teaching Affiliate of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and is centrally located in Queens with easy access to public transportation. The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is a major training site for resident physicians. We offer comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and diagnostic services. Our staff consists of highly skilled and experienced physicians and therapists, employing contemporary rehabilitation equipment and technologies, thereby ensuring that all rehabilitation patients have access to the highest quality care.

We are seeking a Pediatric Physiatrist for temporary part-time duty (3 full days per week for 6 month period) to participate primarily in hospital based outpatient setting including Pediatric Neuromuscular, Brace and DME/ Wheelchair clinics. Physician support includes (2) resident physicians, and onsite Physical, Occupation, Speech and Neuropsychology therapies. Responsibilities also include inpatient pediatric rehabilitation consultations, as requested and resident/ medical student teaching. Participation in onsite academic activities including lectures, journal clubs, grand rounds and case conferences is encouraged but not required.

The ideal candidate will be committed to Patient-centered excellence in the delivery of care and possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Bilingual language skills desired but not required. Candidates must be an MD/DO with a New York State medical license or willingness to obtain a NYS state license. DEA required. Board Certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and recent practice experience or Board Certification in Pediatric Rehabilitation is required. Hospital-based Physiatry experience preferred.
