Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic breast surgeon to join our thriving breast practice, which has a reputation for excellence and integrity. Our practice is primarily breast care, but we offer thyroid and parathyroid surgery as well. We have a large referral base throughout Alabama and bordering states with a patient population currently in excess of 15,000.

Our on-site diagnostic breast health services include ultrasound, ultrasound guided aspiration, ultrasound guided biopsy, and stereotactic core needle biopsy using the IntactTM Breast Lesion Excision System. Our patients also benefit from an adjacent advanced imaging center that provides dedicated breast MRI evaluation.

Birmingham Breast Cares top priority is providing a diagnosis during the patients first visit. As part of our unique approach to timely and efficient patient care, we offer same day diagnosis (via frozen section evaluation by pathology) and treatment counseling to our patients when appropriate. We also offer genetic counseling and BRACA testing when indicated. Our caring and compassionate staff strives to give our patients emotional support, and a patient navigator is available to assist patients through the treatment process.

Our practice is located on the campus of St. Vincent's Birmingham, one of four hospitals in the St. Vincents Health System, which in turn is part of Ascension Health, the largest non-profit hospital system in the United States. Our relationship with St. Vincents Birmingham medical staff, facilities, and Ascension Health provides financial and strategic stability in the ever changing healthcare market.

Although not required, the ideal candidate would have completed an ASBS/SSO/ASBD-approved breast fellowship training program. If selected, you will benefit from a close working relationship with a surgeon with over two decades of experience, who can provide teaching and supervision of percutaneous breast techniques.
