Job Description

We are currently seeking qualified full-time Emergency Physicians for the Emergency
Department at Norton Community Hospital, located in Norton, Virginia.

Norton Community Hospital (NCH) is an Appalachian-area facility that provides unequivocal healthcare services to residents of Norton Virginia, as well as other communities throughout Southwest Virginia and Southeast Kentucky. Established in 1949, NCH is the coalfield region's largest facility; this acute care hospital includes 129 beds.

NCH operates several primary care clinics throughout the region. It was Virginia's first AOA-accredited teaching facility and is utilized by internal medicine residents.

The hospital's 24-hour laboratory offers extensive services, including hematology, serology, microbiology, and more. NCH also offers inpatient and outpatient pharmacies.

The emergency department offers modern technology and private, comfortable rooms, treating nearly 19,000 ER patients per year.

Beautiful fall foliage, snowy winter scenery, and sparkling lakes and streams make Norton, Virginia, a beautiful place to call home any time of year. At Powell Valley Overlook and the Flag Rock Recreation Area, Norton residents enjoy breath-taking mountaintop views of several states.

All physicians are partners of Appalachian Emergency Physicians, LLP, a registered limited liability partnership. Physician partners are eligible for health, optical, and dental insurance at group rates. Physicians have the option to participate in a 401(k) plan, as well as life and disability insurance at group rates. Candidates must be board-eligible in
Emergency Medicine or a Primary Care Specialty with Emergency Medicine experience.
