Less than an hour from downtown Chicago, Palos Medical Group (PMG) is offering an opportunity for a highly qualified psychiatrist to provide outpatient and inpatient coverage at Palos Community Hospital. If you are looking to work in a Behavioral Health department that provides a full continuum of care, this may be for you!
Position Highlights:
Palos Community Hospital has been named an Americas 50 Best, by Healthgrades, which puts Palos in the top 1 percent of hospitals nationwide in 2014.
We are looking to expand the current group of 5 psychiatrists, 1 psychologist, 1 APN and 3 LCSWs.
Palos Community Hospital's Behavioral Health experts provide community education and prevention, diagnosis and treatment, through rehabilitation and recovery services.
A new psychiatrist will join an experienced treatment team of board-certified psychiatrists, advanced practice nurses, social workers, occupational therapists and counselors.
An extensive offering of inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, classes and support groups provide a full range of treatment options to meet the needs of the patients served by our providers.
A 24-hour Crisis Line is staffed with an experienced Intake Team.
Description:
Full-time position for a BE or BC psychiatrist in Adult/General Psychiatry to perform initial and ongoing assessments on all PMG inpatients on the adult units, consultations in the ER or throughout the hospital as needed as well as work in the outpatient setting and with the PHP and IOP programs.

Qualifications:
BC/BE, Well-trained & Qualified Psychiatrist with US Citizenship or Permanent US Visa status
Illinois Medical License, Controlled Substance License and DEA required
Focus on promoting evidenced-based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families
Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with all members of the health care team, patients and families
Willing to work collaboratively with Advance Practice Nurses as determined by the Palos Administration
Able to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served, through consistent behavioral health methods
