Job Description

Core responsibilities:
*Routine, acute, urgent, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative medical care to adult patients and determine appropriate regimen
*Serve as a member of the cross-functional team of providers, consulting with midlevels on the assessment, management and treatment of complicated cases, chart review, co-signing, and case conferences
*Suggest improvements for clinic flow, patient scheduling and service delivery, and collaborate professionally with interdisciplinary team members, including providers, health educators, medical assistants, registered nurses, and case managers
*Delivering well and chronic disease care to a culturally diverse patient population of all ages
*Having flexibility in meeting patients needs, and participating in at least one evening clinic and rotational Saturday clinics.
*High degree of interpersonal competence with both staff and patients, and thorough knowledge of evidence base
Top-notch time management skills and evidence based approaches to medical care
The role is suited to a physician with 1-2 years of experience in a primary care setting, and with experience providing full-spectrum outpatient medical care, including family planning, prenatal, and gynecological services. The position reports to the Associate Medical Director, and requires board certification in Internal Medicine. In the absence of a board certification, candidate must be board eligible and become board certified within 2 years of employment.
*** This is a part time position (28 hours weekly)
Required Skills
*D/D.O. degree from a recognized University, one to two years of experience working in primary care clinic setting.
*Cultural competence working in diverse/low income communities.
*Ability to deal courteously and effectively with complex patient profiles, and maintain good working relationships with other staff
*Ability to keep accurate, clear and legible records
*Excellent time management skills
*English/Spanish proficiency preferred but not required
*Required Experience
*One to two years of experience working in primary care clinic setting.
*Participation in quality assurance activities as needed
*Familiarity with Electronic Panel Management
*Ability and willingness to work under pressure and as part of an interdisciplinary team
*Supervision of medical assistants by providing patient consultation as needed
*EHR experience strongly preferred
