POSITION TITLE:

Nurse Practitioner



DEPARTMENT:

Critical Care Services



GENERAL DESCRIPTION:



Serve as clinician responsible for acute care inpatients for Trinity Regional Health System in collaboration with Intensivist/Critical Care Program. Provide direct care for patients facing acute, chronic, complex and/or life-threatening conditions and their families within the flow of patient care. Lead in comprehensive medical and psychosocial evaluation of patients and families, skilled and meticulous symptom management. Serve as clinical and educational role model and advances understanding of acute/critical care throughout the organization. Provide care and support in collaboration with the primary care team. Ensure compliance with practice standards and codes.



A. EDUCATION, TRAINING EXPERIENCE:



Unrestricted license to practice in the state of Illinois and Iowa and per Physician/APN Standard Care Arrangement.



Minimum of 5 years nursing experience, including care of adults with complex, chronic and/or life threatening conditions.



Master s Degree in Nursing/licensed Nurse Practitioner.



Previous experience working with a hospitalist group desirable.



Knowledge of medications and prescriptive authority per Illinois state law.
