Director of Stroke Services

Job Description

The Department of Neurology, Lahey Hospital Medical Center, a member of Lahey Health, is seeking a Director of Stroke Services. The Stroke Director will ideally be board-certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology. The stroke medical director will be responsible along with other members of the stroke team (physicians, stroke-coordinator and stroke nurse) for the oversight of the active clinical, educational and research aspects of the stroke program in the hospital, including maintenance of competency requirements, updating protocols, ensuring that requirements to obtain comprehensive stroke accreditation are met and maintained.

The Director will be closely involved in the education and maintenance of certification requirements of an ACGME-approved fellowship in stroke. The stroke director, along with vascular neurosurgery and neuroradiology, will have shared responsibility for leading the neuro-endovascular interventional program. Additionally, the stroke director will participate in a leadership role in the hospital and community in stroke related matters.

Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is an academic affiliate of Tufts University Medical School.. The department consists of 20 physicians, 2 PhDs, 3 APCs, and is an integral part of the Tufts neurology residency.
