Job Description

Core responsibilities:

Routine, acute, urgent, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative medical care to adult patients and determine appropriate regimen.
Serve as a member of the cross-functional team of providers, consulting with midlevels on the assessment, management and treatment of complicated cases, chart review, co-signing, and case conferences.
Suggest improvements for clinic flow, patient scheduling and service delivery, and collaborate professionally with interdisciplinary team members, including providers, health educators, medical assistants, registered nurses, and case managers.
Delivering well and chronic disease care to a culturally diverse patient population of all ages.
Having flexibility in meeting patients needs, and participating in the call pool and rotational Saturday clinics.
High degree of interpersonal competence with both staff and patients, and thorough knowledge of evidence based care
Top-notch time management skills and evidence based approaches to medical care.

The role is suited to a physician with 1-2 years of experience in a primary care setting, and with experience providing full-spectrum outpatient medical care, including family planning, prenatal, and gynecological services. The position reports to the Associate Medical Director, and requires board certification in Family Practice. In the absence of a board certification, candidate must be board eligible and become board certified within 2 years of employment.

Required Skills
MD/D.O. degree from a recognized University, one to two years of experience babies in an inpatient setting.
Cultural competence working in diverse/low income communities.
Ability to keep accurate, clear and legible records
English/Spanish proficiency preferred but not required

Required Experience
One to two years of experience working in hospital Labor & Delivery.
Ability and willingness to work under pressure
EHR experience preferred
Strong OB/GYN experience


*** This is an on-call Family Medicine Obstetric Hospitalist

*** Salary: 10% of hourly rate + 75% Fee for Service MediCAL rate
