Job Description

Core Responsibilities:
Provide all aspects of outpatient pediatric care to children from birth through adolescence
Provide routine, acute, urgent, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative medical care to youth, and determining appropriate regimen as needed
Screen and monitor the management of stabilized chronic conditions in asymptomatic and well patients
Attend to and/or admit patients to appropriate hospitals as needed while ensuring 24 hour availability of care to patients by sharing night and weekend call with other physicians
Serve as a member of the cross-functional team of providers, supervising mid-level practitioners and medical assistants on the assessment, management and treatment of complicated cases, chart review, co-signing, and case conferences
Make suggestions for improvements in clinic flow, patient scheduling and service delivery, and collaborate professionally with interdisciplinary team members, including providers, health educators, medical assistants, registered nurses, and case managers
Having flexibility in meeting patients needs, and participating in the call pool and rotational Saturday clinics.
High degree of interpersonal competence with both staff and patients, and thorough knowledge of evidence base
Top-notch time management skills and evidence based approaches to medical care

Required Skills
MD/ DO degree from a recognized University, and completion of 3 year pediatric residency.
Cultural competence working in diverse/low income communities.
Ability to deal courteously and effectively with complex patient profiles, and maintain good working relationships with other staff
Ability to keep accurate, clear and legible records
Excellent time management skills
English/Spanish proficiency strongly preferred but not required

Required Experience
One to two years of experience working in primary care clinic setting.
Participation in quality assurance activities as needed
Familiarity with Electronic Panel Management
Ability and willingness to work under pressure and as part of an interdisciplinary team
Supervision of medical assistants by providing patient consultation as needed
EHR experience strongly preferred


The role is suited to a physician with 1-2 years of experience in a primary care setting, and with experience providing full-spectrum outpatient medical care. The position reports to the Associate Medical Director, and requires board certification in Pediatrics. In the absence of a board certification, candidate must be board eligible and become board certified within 2 years of employment.
