Job Description

Advantage Behavioral Health System is a Community Service Board that serves the Athens, GA area. We provide comprehensive mental health and substance abuse services as well as services for those with developmental disabilities.

Prescribing and administering treatment, therapy, medication and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury
Examining patients and taking histories
Ordering laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
Consulting with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients physical and mental health
Directing and coordinating activities of nurses, student, assistants, specialists, therapists and other medical staff
Coordinating work with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists and other healthcare providers
Advising patients on health care including health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention
Providing emergency medical care
Referring patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary
