The

Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System consists of a Joint Commission

accredited, complexity Level 2 medical center in Muskogee that serves Veterans

in 25 counties of eastern Oklahoma. The 99-bed facility offers primary and

secondary levels of inpatient medical and surgical care, as well as an

inpatient rehabilitation and inpatient behavioral health unit . As part of the

Rocky Mountain Network (VISN 19), EOVAHCS has ready access to seven sister

facilities for referral, although it uses the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center

for the majority of its tertiary services. EOVAHCS also operates three

community based outpatient clinics that provide primary and consultative care

in medicine, surgery and mental health in Tulsa, Hartshorne and Vinita. In

addition, we operate a Behavioral Medicine Clinic in Muskogee that provides

outpatient therapy for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Substance Use, and

Behavioral Medicine Clinic in Tulsa that provides outpatient mental health

therapy and substance use treatment. Academic

affiliations include the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and the

Oklahoma State University College of Medicine.

a Professional Standards Board (PSB) and Compensation Panel in determining the

grade and salary of the applicant selected. The recommended salary may be at

any point in the range listed for this vacancy.





DUTIES





The Radiology

Service Chief will have the principal responsibility of supporting the Chief of

Staff in the performance of administrative duties and clinical oversight of the

Radiology service. He/she will be responsible for maintaining and

improving systems of delivering health care by developing programs and

policies, improving utilization of resources, designing and overseeing needed

process changes for the clinical programs in all imaging modalities within the

Radiology service. The incumbent must have knowledge/experience

of regulatory groups (Joint Commission, CAP, OSHA, NHPP, NRC, etc.) that impact

the Radiology service. The incumbent has to have the ability to

communicate effectively with persons both within and outside the organization,

from diverse backgrounds and levels of education and competence. At a

minimum the incumbent must be able to perform the following:





Assist and advise

the Chief of Staff on issues of Quality, Safety, and Regulatory importance





Lead the Radiology

Service Quality Improvement and Assurance efforts





Supervise staff





Investigate

incident reports involving quality and safety





Develop and

maintain imaging protocols, standard operating procedures, and contributes to

service policies





Supervision of all

aspects of diagnostic imaging practiced at this facility





Interpretation of

diagnostic imaging studies of all

modalities including: MRI, CT, US





Develops, oversees, and

maintains radiology services at the Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System

(EOVAHCS) and all associated outpatient clinical sites



Radiology Service

may be developing interventional radiology and expanding other services in

support of the surgery program and other clinical programs to meet the need to

the Veterans served in this area. The Chief will be responsible for vision

and implementation of these program enhancements.



The position is

full-time, it is preferred that the applicant is an interventional radiologist

and applicants must be board certified by the American College of Radiology

with maintenance of certification. The candidate is also preferred to have

a minimum 10 years of experience in Radiology, and a minimum of 3 years of

experience in administration/supervision. Preference will be given for VA or

federal experience and interventional radiology expertise. A full,

current, active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state,

territory or commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia is

required. This position is a combination of clinical work and

administrative responsibilities.



The EOVAHCS is

affiliated with Oklahoma State University and University of Oklahoma and the

selected candidate will possibly have the opportunity for teaching and an adjunct

faculty appointment at either medical school.





Duty Locations: Muskogee, OK



Tour of Duty : M-F 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
