Position Summary:

The AADE Accredited Diabetes Management Center (DMC) at Lowell General Hospital is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a minimum of three years' experience as an NP and in diabetes management. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or CDE eligible with experience managing complicated patients, insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitor sensing technology. Excellent communication skills with patients and providers, both verbal and written, are essential. Proficiency in management of pre-diabetes, Type 1, Type 2, gestational, diabetes in Type 1 pregnancy and adolescents is required. Will be responsible for providing healthcare to patients and families, focusing on health maintenance, disease prevention, patient education and counseling. Development and presentation of community education programs for DMC clients and the LGH community is required as is periodic review of educational materials. The ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously is a must.

Qualifications:

Current License in Massachusetts as an NP with National Certification as a NP, Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program,DEA and MA Prescriber Authorities current and without infraction.
