Infectious Disease Physician

Job Description

The Portland VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time permanent Infectious Disease Physician. This position entails the management of antimicrobial stewardship programs at VA and OHSU, development of clinical guidelines and programs with the team, and outcomes research. The appointee should also have experience and provide expert opinion in transplant infectious diseases with both solid organ and bone marrow transplant recipients. Of importance is having experience in the area of HIV organ transplant recipients. Further responsibilities include expert inpatient and outpatient consultations, supervising fellows and residents training, and inpatient clinic research responsibilities. The appointee should have documented previous clinical or laboratory research experience in infectious diseases and related topics. The individual we seek should have MD or foreign equivalent and at least two years of training in ACGME program which includes specialized training in infections with transplant recipients and hematologic malignancies. Also required is experience with establishing and maintaining an antibiotic stewardship program at an institution, including experience in HIV management especially with organ transplant.
