Job Description

A Physicians Assistant is needed to join a growing Intensivist program. The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (P.A.) training program, with some prior level of exposure to critical care medicine; critical care residency trained or with some critical care experience. There will be training of the PA in the first month that involves various aspects of critical care medicine including but not limited to admitting patients to the intensive care unit, participation and presentation at daily multi-disciplinary rounds and transferring/ discharging patients from the Intensive care unit. The right candidate should be comfortable working an average of eight (8), 24-hour, in-house shifts with one weekend per month.The hospital has a 20 bed (10 + 10) Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) that has day-time, in-house Intensivist coverage. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
