Southern Illinois University SOM in Springfield, a nationally recognized academic institution, is excited to announce Kari Wolf, MD is the new Chair of the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Wolfs experience includes President and CEO of Seton Mind Institute in Austin, and Chair of the Austin Department of UT Southwestern as well as various physician leadership roles at University of Iowa.

The vision of Dr. Wolf will enable the department to expand its proven strengths. Her leadership will give the leaders, staff and faculty the tools needed to succeed in this time of rapid change in healthcare and healthcare education, and she will provide expertise for the development of collaborative programs with the SIU SOM and with our partner institutions.

SIU offers the opportunity to:
Develop an Inpatient, outpatient or a combination of inpatient and outpatient practice.
Train students, residents, and other allied health professionals.
Be part of he growth and development of the Psychiatry department and the SIU Neuroscience Institute.
