Job Description

members of Lahey Health Cancer Institute (LHCI), are seeking a full-time BC/BE Medical Oncologist for their cancer program. The successful candidate will be based at both Beverly Hospital in Beverly, MA and Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester, MA.

The candidate joins a strong multidisciplinary program that is accredited as a Comprehensive Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeon, Commission on Cancer, and a breast program that is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. The successful candidate will also become a member of the Lahey Health Cancer Institute (LHCI) which includes the cancer programs of Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, Lahey Medical Center, Peabody and Winchester Hospital, as well as close affiliations with St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire; and Parkland Medical Center in Derry, New Hampshire. The total new analytic cancer cases within the LHCI exceed 5,500 cases annually. There are system-wide Multidisciplinary Model of Care teams for breast, colorectal, genitourinary, and thoracic cancers which involve surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and radiologists that address clinical standardization, the clinical research agenda, and quality metrics and outcomes. The successful candidate will become a member of those teams.

Ample opportunities exist for research collaborations as the LHCI maintains a vibrant clinical research program. Lahey Health is a main member in SWOG and NRG, and has a robust Translational Research Program. The Lahey Hospital & Medical Centers Department of Hematology/Oncology is affiliated with Tufts University School of Medicine with an opportunity for an academic appointment commensurate with level of achievement.

Beverly Hospital is located in Beverly, MA and Addison Gilbert Hospital is located in Gloucester, MA, on the beautiful North Shore. Lahey Medical Center, Peabody campus is a free-standing cancer center in Peabody, MA with state-of-the-art medical infusion, radiation oncology, and outpatient surgical services. Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is a 317-bed tertiary care facility, outpatient clinic, and Level II trauma center. It is a physician-led, multidisciplinary group practice of more than 500 physicians. Lahey maintains several accredited residency and fellowship programs. The North Shore encompasses an area that provides excellent school systems, abundant cultural activities, convenient access to the mountains and seacoast throughout New England, and is close to a world-class city - Boston.
