This position is located at Crownpoint Health Care Facility, Division of Clinical Services, Medical Staff, Crownpoint, NM. Serves as a provider in emergency medical services for all patients with urgent or emergency problems. Incumbent reports to the Clinical Director.
The Crownpoint Healthcare Facility staff consists of primary care physicians and nurse practitioners, at a 15 bed hospital which consists of daily inpatient load, daily outpatient visits, OB visits and Emergency Room cases. Physicians have ample opportunities to practice all the skills they trained for in residency, in multi-specialty, but non-departmental setting with continuous back up from colleagues and excellent nursing support in all areas of the hospital. There are no major surgeries performed on-site. However, based on training, physicians perform a full spectrum of outpatient invasive and non-invasive procedures. Incumbent performs diagnostic, preventive and/or therapeutic services. Relocation expenses are authorized and will be paid. U.S. Citizenship is required. Licensure and board certification is required.

Crownpoint, although small, offers a variety of options for entertainment, skill-building, and outdoor activities. Classes at the nearby Navajo Technical University include Navajo language, weaving, and cultural history, plus opportunities to teach at the local level. Local churches of various denominations offer services along with children's activities. A vacation paradise is on the doorstep where outdoor activities are plentiful with downhill and cross-country skiing, camping, and several nearby lakes for fishing. Excellent mountain biking and hiking trails are located in town and famous Anasazi ruins are but a few miles away. An afternoon's drive will take one to Santa Fe (3 hours), Durango and the Rocky Mountains (2 hours), Taos (4 hours), Southern Utah's Moab and Arches/Canyonlands National Parks (4 hours), Flagstaff (3 hours) and the Grand Canyon (5 hours). Albuquerque, 2 hours away, is the nearest large city with an international airport.
