Obstetrician/Gynecologist

Job Description

The Obstetrician/Gynecologist (Ob/Gyn) provides for the prenatal, intra-partum, and postpartum care of health center patients. Board Certification as an Ob/Gyn Physician licensed to practice in the State of Missouri is required. The following information is considered the definition of essential functions but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned:
- Provides appropriate care for the family planning and gynecological needs of the health center patients
- Provides appropriate hospital care related to the specific gynecological, surgical needs of health center patients
- Provides for after hours coverage for urgent health care problems for health center patients on a rotational on-call basis as appropriate
- Participates in the health centers Performance Improvement program
- Assists in the formulation and implementation of the health centers health care plan
- Practices Evidence Base Medicine
- Uses electronic health record (EHR) for documentation
- Completes and signs encounter note(s) within 24-48 hours
- Orders Lab test(s) in the electronic health record
- Reviews and signs/dates lab tests results daily both in EHR and printed results, when indicated
- Reviews and signs/dates radiology reports daily
- Follows recall policy for abnormal tests
- Uses electronic health record for prescribing medication via e-prescribe and to document patients medications
