Job Description
NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore), the principal academic affiliate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, seeks a Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control.
The Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) serves as the primary medical resource and infectious disease subject matter expert for the IPC Department. In collaboration with the Director, the IPC Medical Director will provide medical direction, consultation, leadership, and support for advancing the goals and objectives of the IPC Department and will help to shape the infection prevention and control strategic priorities of the organization related to developing standards, implementing leading practices, and measuring impact of initiatives and interventions.
The successful candidate will have completed an Infectious Diseases fellowship and be board certified or board eligible in Infectious Disease. Previous experience working in Infection Prevention and Control is preferred. Additionally, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships within interdisciplinary teams required.
This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic group of physicians within the Infectious Diseases Division with a strong reputation for providing excellent clinical care and works collaboratively with Microbiology, Molecular Diagnostics, and Pharmacy.
