Pain & Palliative Care Physician

Maimonides Medical Center (MMC), a 711-bed tertiary academic medical center in Brooklyn, NY, seeks an experienced senior Palliative Medicine physician to serve as leader of the Medical Centers Palliative Medicine, Bioethics & Chronic Pain Management Service Line. The team includes two faculty attending physicians, five nurse practitioners, and two social workers. In additional to providing clinical leadership for the team, the physicians scope of practice will include consultative patient care on the in-patient hospital units and consultative and longitudinal sub-specialty responsibilities in the outpatient Cancer Center Pain and Palliative Medicine clinic.

Responsibilities:
o Clinical leader of the Palliative Medicine, Bioethics & Chronic Pain Management Service Line
o Provision of high quality consultative palliative medicine throughout the hospital
o Significant presence in the outpatient Cancer Center Pain and Palliative Medicine clinic
o Partnering with the MMC Cancer Center to expand the delivery of onsite palliative care

Qualifications:
o MD or DO from accredited medical school
o Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York
o Current DEA number
o Board certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine
o Significant experience in the practice of Palliative Medicine
