Nurse Practitioner
Per Diem / As Needed

Schedule will vary
Weekends - 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM (Saturdays and Sundays)
Job Summary:
Works is collaboration with physicians to provide comprehensive physical examinations, diagnosis and treatment of chronic, episodic and acute disorders.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
1. Performs comprehensive history and physical on patients as needed
2.Manages patients with acute, episodic and chronic illnesses; Assumes ongoing responsibility for each patient under her/his care; Refers participants to medical director or medical specialist as indicated
3.Promotes and maintains lines of communication between department personnel, Nursing Services, Physicians, patient and family
4.Performs appropriate procedures as needed to assigned patients
5.Functions in a supervisory role as needed for Nursing staff, Medical Assistant and secretarial staff
6.Actively participates in family/patient conferences, as well as conferences in the areas of morbidity and mortality, pharmacy, therapeutics and data sets
7.Develops schedules and provides in-service education at all staffing levels as needed
8.Documents treatment in patient charts according to established department guideline
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
1.Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, as an R.N. and/or
2.Advanced training and certification as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or advanced training and licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA)
Experience:
1.Minimum of 2 years of experience as an ARNP or PA
Licenses/Certifications:
1.Current ARNP/PA license by the Florida State Board of Nursing
Abilities Required:
1.Central line placement, suturing, and ACLS
2.Thorough knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid policies, diagnostic related groups
3.(DRGs), Sub acute/SNF criteria, JCAHO regulations/standards, HRS regulations, HMO policies, and third party insurance
Working Conditions:
Environment Work Conditions:
1.Normal working condition with adequate lighting and ventilation
2.Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals; bio-hazardous waste; flammable, explosive gas
3.Ability to assist transferring patients and ambulation which may involve lifting, pushing and pulling of patients from 50-150 pounds
Infectious Material Exposure:
1.Routine exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues
