Position Summary

MemorialCare Medical Group is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant for its Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery program at Miller Childrens and Womens Hospital / Long Beach Medical Center in Long Beach, California.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

In this full-time role, you will work alongside Dr. Shaun Setty, Medical Director of Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgery. Job duties include but are not limited to:
First or second assist in the O.R.
ICU patient rounds and managing surgical patients in coordination with other team members
Inpatient consults
Outpatient clinic coordination (e.g., calling patients, organizing authorizations for clinic or surgery, patient follow-up, organizing or requesting consult information)
Entering database Information
O.R. after hours call

Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of pediatric cardiac surgery experience is required
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program is required
PA board certification
Current (or eligible for) California medical license
Current DEA
Current ACLS and PALS certifications
