Job Description
The NC Dept of Health and Human Services is seeking a BE/BC Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to serve as a member of the Child/Adolescent Unit (CAU) Medical Staff located at Central Regional Hospital (CRH) in Butner, NC, with work assignment at the Whitaker Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF). The 18-bed Whitaker PRTF is a subsidiary service of Central Regional Hospital. The work will be with adolescents, ages 11 17. Under the direction of the Unit Clinical Director of the CRH CAU and in collaboration with the Clinical Director of the Whitaker PRTF, this position will provide patient care to an assigned patient caseload, as the leader of a clinical treatment team. This position will also provide psychiatric leadership to the Whitaker PRTF. Provides on-call services as required. Work averages 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8am 5pm.
SALARY RANGE: $143,290.00 - $253,818.00 Annually
APPOINTMENT TYPE: Permanent Full-Time

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES:
The physician must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to adolescent patients, as credentialed by the Medical Staff. Considerable knowledge of inpatient psychiatry, knowledge of the theories and general practices of medicine. Thorough knowledge of biological, social and psychological developmental process at all ages; a sound identity with and training in medicine and psychiatry; demonstrated clinical abilities. The ability to work on an interdisciplinary team and integrate care is essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills (including legibility) are essential. ADA physical requirements will be discussed during the interview.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed to practice medicine in the State of North Carolina. Completion of an accredited adult and child psychiatry residency preferred. Board certification in adult and/or child psychiatry preferred.
