Job Description
The Department of Pediatrics of the MetroHealth System (MHS), a principal teaching hospital of the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine, is inviting applications at the Associate/Full Professor rank for Division Director of General Pediatrics.
The Department of Pediatrics at MetroHealth has 50 full time faculty who are strongly committed to excellence in clinical care, research and education of fellows, residents and medical students. Clinical areas of expertise include a 55 bed Level 3 NICU, a 10 bed Level 2 pediatric trauma center, primary care pediatrics and our Comprehensive Care program providing longitudinal care for patients from infancy to adulthood with complex medical needs. The Department supports Graduate Medical Education programs in General Pediatrics, Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics and Fellowship in Neonatology. Our independently functioning Med-Peds Center and community-based Med-Peds Continuity Clinics are exclusively taught by faculty Boarded in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. The Internal Medicine-Pediatrics (Med-Peds) Residency Training Program at MetroHealth Medical Center is a four-year program.
For this position, the incoming Director will lead the Division of General Pediatrics at our main campus and 11 satellite sites, consisting of 25 physicians, 5 Nurse Practitioners, and 24 Pediatrics and Med-Peds Residents. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic clinician and leader, with a strong interest in resident education and population health. Interest and experience in clinical research and population health is desired.
Qualified applicants should hold an MD, DO, or MD/PhD, and must be board certified in Pediatrics. The applicant must be qualified for a faculty appointment with CWRU School of Medicine; Department of Pediatrics at the Associate or Professorial level. Applicants should be eligible for employment in the US and for an Ohio medical license. Compensation and Tenure will be commensurate with experience and achievement.
