Job Description
Position Summary:
Provides direct care to patients in the primary care setting. Performs medical examinations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-ups, consultations, and health education within the scope of expertise and agreed upon protocols. Consults preceptor(s), as appropriate, if the health status of a patient is beyond his/her scope of practice. Assists in providing continuous process improvement reports for improving the quality of patient care.
Qualifications:
Licensed as an advance practice registered nurse by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing, and board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by an approved certification entity. One-year clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner with focus in primary care preferred. Current prescriptive authority and CPR certification required.
Work Environment:
Very busy atmosphere. Highly stressful when dealing with individual personalities of co-worker, patients and their families. Potential for rare exposure of blood-borne diseases (Category II). Potential for rare exposure to chemical hazards (Category B).
Physical Demands:
Considerable sitting, standing or walking. Assists in lifting and moving patients as necessary. Lifts supplies/equipment up to 20lbs. occasionally, and/or up to 10lbs. frequently. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching. Must be able to act rapidly and effectively while following policies and procedures, and utilize principles of management during routine as well as emergency situations.
Schedule and Benefits:
Full-time position with Monday- Friday dayshift schedule. Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision and life insurance, as well as paid time off and holiday pay.
