Nurse Coordinator - Perioperative Services (RUHS-MC)

Job Description

Riverside University Health System-Medical Center is currently recruiting for a Nurse Coordinator with primary responsibility for all Perioperative areas over safety, quality, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of progressively responsible nursing experience in Perioperative Services.

Work Schedule: the schedule for this position is 9/80

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Act as the primary driver for safety in all perioperative ares, including the Operating Room and Labor & Delivery.
Plans and develops safety and quality program with best practices, following a gap analysis.
Plays a strong role in improving OR turn over time and maximization of block time with minimizing overtime, where appropriate.
Performs audits and follow-up education as needed related to documentation and workflow processes.
Active member of AORN and keeps abreast of best practices, evidence based studies and national/state/community standards.
Creates and co-chairs a Perioperative Safety Committee.
Meets regularly and partners with department chairs for Anesthesia, Trauma and Surgery for continuous performance improvement and attends pertinent physician committees.
Assist leadership tea in A3 projects related to safety, efficiency and strategy.
Works closely with Quality and Regulatory departments.
