Psychiatrist Director

Job Description

This position functions as the Chief of Clinical Affairs, and serving as a third-level manager for psychiatrists and physicians. Responsible for all diagnostic and treatment services. Directs all health care services, including medical services unit, Clinic, laboratory, medical and psychiatry staff, Dental, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Psychology.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a medical degree from an accredited school of medicine.

Experience
Five years of professional experience equivalent to a Psychiatrist in a mental health facility or clinic, including one year equivalent to a chief of clinical affairs at a state facility for the mentally ill.

Alternate Education and Experience

Additional Requirements and Information
Possession of a license to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery in Michigan.

All positions at the 21 and 22 levels will require board certification in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Inc.

Positions in children's psychiatric hospitals will require board certification in child and adolescent psychiatry.
