Job Description
Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI), located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia is recruiting a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner LVAD Coordinator to join the Samsky Advanced Heart Failure team. This is a great employment opportunity in one of the nations leading cardiology programs. You will work alongside some of the most respected and highly trained physicians in the region and will be expected to deliver exemplary care to some of the highest acuity heart failure patients in the nation.
Our VAD Coordinators provide care in both inpatient and outpatient setting. They work collaboratively with our Advanced Heart Failure Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery teams.
The Samsky Advanced Heart Failure Center offers comprehensive heart failure disease management and a full spectrum of advanced medical and surgical treatment options, including mechanical circulatory support, donor procurement and heart transplantation. Patients receive extensive education, access to a state-of-the-art outpatient management, clinical research opportunities, patient-centered cardiac rehabilitation programs, comprehensive case management and palliative care.
The position offers flexible staffing including 10 hour weekday shifts.
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Masters degree in Nursing, OR graduate of an accredited Physician Assistants program with current license for the Georgia State Composite Board.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
5 years practice as an Advanced Practice Provider managing patients with a Left Ventricular Assist Device.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia. OR Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP/FNP). Updated NCCPA certification for PAs. BLS and ACLS required.
