Nemours Childrens Specialty Care Jacksonville is seeking a motivated and experienced Pediatric Surgeon with strong progressive experience to lead a Division of six Pediatric Surgeons. We provide comprehensive surgical care to a large population base with a heavy load of neonatal cases. We have recently become a state designated Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and are committed to obtaining ACS Level 1 Trauma Verification as well as Level 1 Childrens Surgical Verification.
This is a full-time employed position. Physician candidates must have completed an ABMS accredited Fellowship program in Pediatric Surgery, be eligible for unrestricted Florida License, and be Board Certified in Pediatric surgery. The ideal candidate is a dynamic pediatric surgeon with a passion for patient--and family-centered care, with the ability to work with other subspecialists in a multi-specialty collaborative fashion. A strong academic background is also highly desired.

Our team includes six physician assistants/nurse practitioners providing 24/7 in-house coverage. We receive third year surgery residents from Mayo, University of Florida and Florida State Colleges of Medicine. Inpatient care is delivered at Wolfson Children's Hospital, which is connected via skybridge directly to our clinic and administrative offices. This facility includes a new inpatient tower, and currently has over 200 total beds, including a 20 bed PICU, a 24 bed CVICU and 48 Level 2 and 3 NICU beds, with 24 hour critical care coverage. Construction is currently underway on a new tower, which will increase the total number of beds to over 280, and modernize and expand the combined number of NICU and PICU beds to 127. All pediatric surgery specialties are represented including 24/7 in-house pediatric hospitalist coverage and 18 pediatric anesthesiologists.
We have extensive experience in advanced minimally invasive surgery, with two dedicated minimally invasive Stryker OR suites, state of the art instrumentation, and the DaVinci Surgical Robotic System. We have comprehensive programs in management of chest wall deformities, pediatric surgical oncology and neonatal surgical care including a highly successful ECMO program and a multidisciplinary CDH program.
