Job Description
Yakima Valley School, a Residential Habilitation Center (RHC) in Selah, Washington, is seeking a Psychologist to join a highly respected team committed to helping individuals with developmental disabilities have the supports they need to live healthy, safe, and inclusive lives.
In this job, you will be our subject matter expert in psychological services providing clinical consultation and monitoring performance standards to ensure quality care. You will also enjoy the leadership aspect of your job providing clinical guidance to staff that supports psychological, behavioral, and mental health services to residents with significant challenges and specialized service needs.
Some of what you'll do
Serve as the psychological consultant to the Interdisciplinary team
Develop positive behavior support plans (PBSP)
Conduct psychological evaluations and comprehensive functional assessments
Maintain oversight of all behavioral support plans and recommend changes as necessary
Provide diagnostic assessments to clarify treatment needs
Provide consultation and training to professional and direct care staff
Ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely manner
Participate in clinical staff meetings
We're looking for professionals who have:
Ability to provide clinical leadership and direction to clinical staff and interdisciplinary team
Experience providing treatment to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health and/or co-occurring disorders
Ability to plan and develop effective behavioral intervention strategies
Knowledge of diagnostic concepts for developmental disabilities and current treatment and intervention modalities
Techniques for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of individual treatment plans
Who should apply:
A Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) or Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology (PhD) from an American Psychological Association accredited university psychology department or professional school of psychology
Licensed or eligible to obtain a license in Washington to practice psychology.
