We are seeking a Board Certified Physician Assistant for our full-time employed position to staff our facility in the Department of Emergency Medicine. We offer flexible shift-scheduling options to provide you with the most optimal work/life balance to meet your lifestyle needs. This is an 18-month commitment and our goal is training and retain you after the program. Our program includes didactic lectures that cover the content of the Model of the Clinical Practice of Emergency Medicine. Training includes ACLS, PALS, ATLS certifications, emergency ultrasound, simulation-based learning and an emergency airway course. The clinical rotations include an Emergency Department based program with clinical training in the main Emergency Department, FastTrack, Pediatrics and Observation Medicine units.
Every year, our Emergency Department treats more than 63,000 people just like you from throughout Long Island. Our highly skilled clinical team of Emergency and Critical Care-trained Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers and Nurses provide treatment around the clock, seven days a week. Ancillary staff includes nursing assistants, technicians, unit secretaries, social work staff and volunteers.
Designated as a Level III Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma - one of only four community hospitals on Long Island to earn this designation the Hospital is able to treat all trauma cases from mid-Suffolk to as far east as Montauk, making us an integral part of Suffolk Countys Emergency Medical Service program.
