Speech Language Pathologist

Our facility is looking for a caring and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist who enjoys coming to work and is inspired to treat our residents like family. The overall purpose of the Speech Language Pathologist is to improve the residents communication and swallowing abilities, to increase independence, and participation in society and quality of life. Qualified candidates will plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Speech Language Pathology Department in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluate residents related to speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency.
Develop treatment plans, including short & long-term goals and methods to achieve identified goals.
Communicate the residents speech therapy program to the family and/or guardian.
Keeping consistent written documentation including evaluations, daily notes, and weekly summaries.
Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants, and ancillary service providers.
Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology or higher from an accredited program.
Successful completion of Praxis Examination.
License to practice speech therapy within the state of Missouri/CF also welcome.
