The City of Harlingen is the Capital of the Rio Grande Valley and is known as The Tropical Playground of Texas. Harlingen is in Cameron County, about 30 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, offering a rich diverse culture of activities for all to experience. RGV offers warm weather year-round and a very reasonable cost of living. This year Harlingen had a cost of living that is 20% less than the national average https://www.coli.org/quarter-1-2021-cost-of-living-index-released-3-2-2-2/ This is partially due to the absence of a state income tax, very affordable housing and cheaper food and merchandise costs. The business opportunities in the Rio Grande Valley are endless. These investments in infrastructure and education help meet the needs of todays companies, ensure that the RGV will continue attracting future business growth, and keep the real estate markets in the Rio Grande Valley strong and vibrant. Meaning you can expect surprisingly stronger returns on investment compared to other markets in the U.S.
