Job Description

LAC+USC Medical Center is the cornerstone of the safety net for the largest county in the United States. As one of the largest public hospitals in the US, we are the busiest Level 1 trauma center, and one of only 3 Burn units, in Los Angeles County. We are home to one of the largest GME training centers in the US, with 950 residents and fellows, representing nearly 1% of all post graduate trainees in the US. We also serve as the primary teaching hospital for the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine. Our mission is to provide fully integrated, accessible, affordable and culturally sensitive care, one person at a time.

LAC+USC Medical Center is seeking a qualified primary care physician (FM, IM or Med+Peds) to support primary care departmental recovery and backlog efforts by providing direct patient care, addressing clinical service backlogs, and assuming responsibility in recovery of specific operational, clinical quality and pay-for-performance metrics. The physician will collaborate with and support the patient-centered medical home (PCMH) clinic directors and nurse managers as needed. The physician will work with all team members and stakeholders to achieve and maintain desired patient and population health outcomes in a cost-effective manner. The physician may perform back-up provider duties as indicated for patient care/safety needs.

LAC+USC Medical Center is a 600 bed hospital that includes a Level-One trauma center and serves over 10 million residents. It is a county affiliated teaching hospital that is in affiliation with the University of Southern California (USC) Medical School in 1885 and has over 900 physicians in their Graduate Medical Education program.

The hospital is in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. It has over 100,000 residents and has a majority Latino population. It is located east of the Los Angeles River and its neighboring communities include Lincoln Heights, Chinatown, Commerce and Downtown Los Angeles.
