Job Description

Infectious Disease Faculty Physician
The Division of Adult Infectious Diseases at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is pleased to announce an opening for a faculty position. Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is a tertiary care, safety net, teaching hospital affiliated with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the Lundquist Institute, an independent, non-profit research organization. We are looking for an academic infectious diseases physician to join an active, large Division that is involved in clinical care, teaching, and cutting-edge research, both clinical-translational and laboratory-based. The position will primarily entail serving as the attending physician on inpatient services, primarily the Infectious Diseases Consult Service, as well as in the outpatient Infectious Diseases Clinics. This position will involve the supervision of medical students, residents, and ID fellows. It is expected that faculty members will participate in scholarly activities. Although we will consider physician-investigators with all types or at all levels of experience, the optimal candidate would be interested in patient-based clinical or translational research, or in health services/outcomes research that align with the mission and goals of our health system, the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS). Harbor-UCLA is committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce. Therefore, we encourage applications from those who can contribute through their research, teaching, and/or service to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.

Academic appointment will be at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, with compensation from Los Angeles County. Academic appointment will be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level, depending on the experience of the successful candidate. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments and includes an excellent benefits package. Applicants must have a medical degree, a valid state medical license and be BC/BE in Infectious Diseases.

Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is located in the city of Torrance, a city in the Southwestern (South Bay) region of LA County. Its neighboring cities are Lomita, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, and Palos Verdes. The city has over 30 city parks and includes a total of 1.5 miles of beaches on the Pacific Ocean. It has an estimated population of over 145,000 residents.

Please submit your cover letter and CV to Loren Miller, M.D., M.P.H., Division of Infectious Diseases, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center to this posting. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, or age.
