Emergency Room Medical Clerk

Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opportunity for a civilian EmergencyRoom Medical Clerk at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.

This contract position offers:

Position Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- At least 1 year of administrative experience, preferably with medical records
- At least 6 months of experience within the last year working in a medical environment.
- Must have flexible availability. Days/Evenings/Nights/Weekends/Holidays will all be required.

Position Duties
- Receives patients, visitors, and telephone calls into the Emergency Department.
- Obtain identifying information and determine the nature of the visit/ call.
- Maintain positive customer service
- Review all database information for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Ensure required forms/documents are completed appropriately.
- Alternates duty days between the Registration Desk, Floater Desk, and the ED Treatment Area (nursing station).
