About MetroHealth Psychology
Psychology is a division of the Department of Psychiatry. Division Director of Psychology will lead a diverse division of psychologists, students, residents and fellows. Psychologists and training programs are integrated in primary and specialty clinical practices across The MetroHealth System including inpatient services. The division is nationally recognized in integrated care, pediatrics and autism spectrum disorders. Program growth continues and is considered vital to ensuring successful health outcomes for our patients and families.
Overview of Job Responsibilities
Administrative Responsibilities:
Responsible as direct supervisor for all Associate Directors within the Psychology Division.
Ensure adequate clinician staffing during agreed-upon hours of operation; partner with nursing management to ensure appropriate clinical support.
Work in partnership with the Chairperson for Psychiatry and the Executive Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health on all clinical, research, staffing, program development, recruitment/hiring, budgetary, and philanthropic initiatives.
Participate on the meetings to monitor fiscal and budgetary performance of the Psychology Division.
Work in partnership with the associate directors within the psychology division and other departmental leadership in the evaluation of psychology faculty performance.
Manage daily staffing, performance management, clinical competency, recruitment and retention of psychologists and associated subspecialty providers.
Work with MetroHealth financial and billing representatives to optimize mental and behavioral health service reimbursement.
Clinical Excellence and Continuous Learning:
Excel in direct clinical care within area of expertise.
Review clinician quality, experience, and productivity data and identify opportunities for improvement and celebration.
Support professional and educational development of psychologists.
Partnering with Academic Chairs, offer and support improvement plans around quality of care for clinicians as needed to ensure clinical competency.
Along with clinical leads, address and assist in resolving patient relations complaints for psychology practice with focus on clinical care issues that require clinician input.
Coach team members to top of skill set to meet the needs of patients and colleagues.
Train and support clinicians to partner with staff for team-based care.
Collaboratively design and implement value-based care delivery models that improve access to care, decrease wait times and achieve optimal treatment outcomes.
Leadership and Strategy:
Increase extramural research grant funding within the division of psychology
Collaborate with psychology and psychiatry training directors in the training and supervision of students, interns, residents, and fellows
Provide culturally competent, evidence-based psychological services to children, adolescents, and families
Foster collaborative partnerships with other academic centers and community providers
Lead monthly whole team meetings to bolster teamwork, identify areas of opportunity for improvement, and create opportunities for shared learning.
Contribute to innovation through facilitation of quality and process improvement that align with system goals.
Partner with Academic Chairs to lead recruitment and retention efforts to attract, onboard, and keep excellent clinicians.
Lead initiatives to evolve Behavioral Health practice models to best serve our community in Northeast Ohio.

Have experience leading initiatives that encourage Inclusion, Diversity, and Racial Equity.
Eligible for appointment as a tenure-track or tenured Professor preferred.
Doctoral degree from an APA or CPA accredited program in Clinical, Counseling or School Psychology.
Completion of an APA or CPA accredited internship in psychology.
Unrestricted license to practice psychology in the State of Ohio or ability to obtain prior to appointment.
Board-certified or related clinical specialty through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
Record of academic medical center leadership and achievement.
Demonstrated expertise in providing culturally competent, evidence-based clinical services to adults and child.
Documented track record of scholarship, as evidenced by extramural grant funding and/or peer-reviewed publications.
