Job Description

This south central Kansas medical center is looking for a Primary Care Physician who is passionate about providing direct, comprehensive primary, preventative and therapeutic medical care to individuals across a broad spectrum of age and development within a high-risk population. Our PCP will also coordinate with community partners to help ensure comprehensive, integrated care.

ability to communicate effectively with vulnerable populations, including those made vulnerable by financial status, personality characteristics, place of residence, health status, and/or age.
Understand health literacy levels or other approaches to addressing communication needs.
Demonstrate a high level of customer service both internally and externally.
Successfully work with others to achieve desired results; contribute to team projects; exchange ideas and opinions; help prevent, resolve conflicts; develop positive working relationships; is flexible and open-minded; and promotes mutual respect.
As an integrated health care center, Physician responsibilities also include:

carrying out patient-centered health promotion and disease prevention activities including education and shared decision-making
providing appropriate periodic mental health assessments, screenings, counseling and treatment for mental illness, family violence, and diseases of addiction
consult and coordinate care with collaborating physicians, Advance Practice clinicians (APRNs and Pas); Dentists; care team support (RNs, LPNs, MAs); Integrated Care Coordinators; Pharmacy; Lab and all other integrated services.
Assist in program development, maintenance, and quality assurance as outlined by HRSA, IHS and Clinic policies and procedures.
Maintain privileges at Via Christi and Wesley hospitals and membership on the active medical staff of these area hospitals.
Qualifications:

Kansas State License required.
Must be Board Eligible/Board Certified.
Current, valid, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) License.
Proper completion and verification of residency and/or other training.
