Who we are:

This Southeast Kansas Community Health Center is an integrated health care center, offering a range of medical services including dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, walk-in care, addiction treatment and other areas. Additional services beyond healthcare include transportation, care coordination, help with insurance enrollment, and more.

We opened our doors in 1997 on the second floor of a 90-year-old elementary school building as a community outreach of Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center, the hospital Mother Mary Bernard Sheridan, a Sister of St. Joseph, founded in 1903. Her mission was to bring healthcare to the poorest in our region and she did so by building a hospital on donated land and providing care for all.

Do all the good that you can, for all the people you can, in all the ways that you can, for just as long as you can. Mother Sheridan, CSJ

The Community we serve:

This eastern Kansas city lies in one of the most beautiful valleys of the state. The city was established along the Marais des Cygnes River, which means Marsh of the Swans. The French translation for this city is the swan. While a population of less than 2,000, this quaint city offers many outdoor amenities, including cabins and campsites at Linn County Park, located on a 2,600 acre lake; La Cygne Reservoir and Wildlife Area along the Frontier Military Historic Byway; and the Rivers Lodge and Hunt Club. Our two locally owned wineries, Blue Dog Wine Co. and Isinglass Vineyard and Winery, host onsite tastings, private events and beautiful views. Five churches, Prairie View USD 362 school district, our caring residents, and quick and safe access to the entire Kansas City metro make this city a special place to call home.
