The Center for Cardiovascular Health and the Franciscan Medical group at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) are actively looking to hire a full-time cardiac anesthesiologist at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. The Center for Cardiovascular Health includes over 160 cardiovascular providers that support VMFH across 11 hospitals and nearly 300 sites of care throughout the greater Puget Sound region.

Job Description:


This is a rare cardiac only model opportunity with guaranteed salary for a fellowship trained physician to join our nationally recognized multiple 3 3-star STS award winning care team at St. Joseph Medical Center (SJMC) in Tacoma, WA. We perform over 500 open heart cases a year, including a large volume of mitral valve surgeries. This position will also support a very active cardiac interventional program that includes TEE dependent electrophysiology procedures, structural heart (TAVR/WATCHMAN/Mitra-clip), and other cath lab procedures. Requirements:

BC/BE Anesthesiology
Fellowship in cardiac anesthesiology and diplomat status in Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography (testamur status considered for recent fellowship graduates)
Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of Washington
Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice

Salary & Benefits

Guaranteed Salary: $550,000 with up to $50,000 additional in value based metrics. We offer a starting bonus, relocation assistance, and expense reimbursement.


The posted compensation range is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
