Respiratory Therapist Internship - Forsyth Campus

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

1. Graduation from an accredited respiratory care program with an Associates degree or equivalent and RRT credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
2. New Graduates must be registry eligible and have completed a registry eligible accredited respiratory care program. New graduates may be hired as Level II therapist but will be required to obtain their RRT (registry) within six months of their start date to continue employment at Northside.
3. Therapist that have greater than 5 years of clinical experience and have a CRT or CRTT may be hired, are eligible for a Level II position and will fall under the Grandfather clause not requiring them to take their registry.
4. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) by the American Heart Association. **NRP is only required when rotating to the NICU or attending deliveries.
5. Maintains proficiency in arterial blood sampling techniques as prescribed by the hospital and/or JCAHO.
6. Validate State License

Northside Hospital Atlanta (in Sandy Springs) opened in 1970. The original facility had 250 beds and has since been expanded to 621 beds.

In 1997, Northside Hospital Cherokee (in Canton) was created through an agreement between R.T. Jones Regional Hospital and Northside Hospital, Inc. On May 6, 2017, Northside Hospital-Cherokee moved to its brand new campus near I-575 at exit 19 (Ga. Hwy. 20), near the Canton Marketplace development. The campus includes a 126-bed hospital and two medical office buildings with a Cancer Institute and a distinct Women's Center.
