Responsibilities: Job Summary: The Medical Director of Mental Health Services will provide senior clinical leadership in the planning, delivery, operation, and evaluation of community based mental health services operated by Bay Cove Human Services. Responsibilities: Essential Functions of Position: Assist in policy development and review for mental health services. Participation in clinical risk management of CBFS clients with the eight CBFS teams and with staff of the Fuller/Bay Cove site of the Metro Boston/South East Area of the DMH. Oversight of risk management procedures with the Vice President of Mental Health Services Clinical supervision for prescribing psychiatrists who work at the Gill Clinic and PACT. Leadership in strengthening health and wellness interventions throughout mental health services. Training and case consultation to mental health staff. Participation in transition planning for clients referred from DMH Intermediate Care facilities to CBFS services. Consulting Psychiatrist to Center House Day Treatment Assist in hiring of psychiatrists and advanced practice nurses working in mental health services. Liaison with private hospital psychiatrists to improve continuity of care for CBFS clients. Qualifications: Licensed with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Controlled Substance Registration Certificate. Current Commonwealth of Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration. Certification with the Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Proven Leadership skills. Experience in working with individuals with severe and persistent mentally illness from culturally diverse populations, and the complex public and private systems which serve them. Excellent writing and oral communication skills. Ability to use and maintain best practices and evidence-based practices in the field of psychiatric medicine. Driving License Required? Yes
